With this first edition of Music Mondays, we’d like to pay our respects to Redway who passed away this August in an unfortunate car crash accident. Redway was an inspirational rapper whose energy was felt throughout the city of Toronto. “Without music, life would be a mistake.” – Friedrich Nietzsche. Not only did Redway live his life purposefully he inspired others to do the same. Rest in Peace #BLVD
Music is eternal and so we encourage you to listen to Redway’s collaborative EP Years Ahead with Grammy-Nominated producer WondaGurl. As the title suggests, the project is years ahead of its’ time. In 9 tracks Redway demonstrates why he was and is a force to be reckoned with in Toronto and beyond. WondaGurl (born, Ebony Oshunrinde) exclusively produced the tracks with Redway whom she’d known since childhood. From “Live It” to “Till I’m Gone” the MC never fails; he epically charges each song with emotion and phenomenal lyrical imagery. If after 9 tracks you’re still interested in experiencing more from the EP, Redway was kind enough to leave you with the Years Ahead documentary.

The R&B songstress released an EP last January entitled Relapse: Part One. The project starts off with “Journey” – which is later remixed by SYD STATIC and Rishi Rex – “Journey” is followed by “Destination,” “Interlude,” and finally “Me Without You.” Madison’s vocal range is lower than most which lends itself beautifully to the seductive R&B style she uses. The EP is more or less an invitation to love and to love passionately. For all R&B lovers, she’s the one you’ve been waiting for.
